spicy sesame pasta with broccoli and garbanzo beans

Posted on January 19, 2012 ,
When an inexperienced cook asks for a pasta recipe, this could not be easier! It is also my "go to" recipe for pot lucks. It's delicious even at room temperature. One of my most successful 3 in 3 pastas.

  • Prep Time :
    3 min
  • Cook Time :
    3 min
  • Ready Time :
    6 min
  • Servings :
    4

Ingredients

  • 1/2 bag Al Dente Spicy Sesame Linguine (or Egg Linguine if you don't want spice)
  • 1 head of broccoli, cut into florettes
  • 1 can garbanzo beans, drained
  • 1 cup bottled Asian style dressing like Paul Newman's, Annies, Whole Foods
  • garnish with toasted almonds or green onion slices

Directions

Drain garbanzo beans in colander.  Bring large pot of salted water to a boil.  Add broccoli.  When water comes back to a boil, add pasta and cook for 3 min.  Drain the pasta and broccoli over the garbanzo beans.  Toss it all with the dressing and garnish. This can be served hot or cold.

Many variations.  If you want to serve six people, then still use whole bag of pasta and add a little extra dressing.  For a party, when you want a large bowl, still use one bag of pasta and double the other ingredients.  Can also add shrimp, chicken, sweet red pepper, pea pods, etc.Drain garbanzo beans in colander.  Bring large pot of salted water to a boil.  Add broccoli.  When water comes back to a boil, add pasta and cook for 3 min.  Drain the pasta and broccoli over the garbanzo beans.  Toss it all with the dressing and garnish.
